○○ I feel a deep sense of responsibility for entrusting me with the important role of the 30th President of the Alumni Association in this special year of the 80th anniversary of Ewha Womans University, and I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your support.
Dear Alumni, The Alumni Association exists for two main reasons. Our alma mater is currently preparing for its second leap forward, and as the only autonomous private school in Gyeongsangbuk-do, we have big changes ahead. Next year, the first, second, and third years of high school will be filled with autonomous high school students, and the following year, the first graduating class since the autonomous high school transition will graduate.
At this pivotal time, my role as Alumni President is already clear. First, I will further develop the ○○ Alumni Bulletin, a medium of dialogue and communication, to make it the centerpiece of the alumni community. Second, I will improve and develop the Alumni Football Tournament, another pillar of the Alumni Association, to ensure that the proud tradition of the Alumni Association continues.
These two tasks are fundamental to the mission of the Alumni Association, and your voluntary and active interest and participation is paramount. Rather than a passive attitude of “I’ll be the only one left out,” let’s all move forward with energy, dreaming of the amazing results and great accomplishments that can be achieved when all 40,000 alumni come together.
This is a critical time for our alma mater and our alumni association. A great alumni association without a great alma mater, and a great alma mater without a great alumni association, doesn’t mean much. To all the alumni who have traveled a thousand miles in the sweltering heat to attend this ceremony, I would like to express my infinite respect and gratitude to you for electing me as the first alumni president to succeed the first alumni president, and at the same time, I feel that my small shoulders have become even heavier.
It seems like just yesterday that I was inaugurated as the first alumni president, but two years have passed since then. Two years ago, I was worried about whether I would be able to hear each and every one of your voices as the representative of our alumni. When I first took on the role of president, I wanted our alumni association to be more than just a gathering of old friends. With that in mind, over the past two years, I’ve been working to create opportunities for alumni to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s lives and form stronger bonds.
Last year, I focused on organizing various events to bring our alumni together, such as athletic competitions, unity competitions, and group MTs. I wanted to spend as much time as possible with alumni. Fortunately, many people actively participated and helped me, and I was able to successfully complete my term. On the other hand, I’m worried that my greed might have made things difficult for many of you, so this year, I’m planning to cut back on group events and focus more on honoring alumni.
After 10 or 20 years, there are only a few meaningful things that remain around, and one of them is the alumni of my elementary school, ○○. You are my past, present, and future, as I shared childhood memories with you that I will never be able to recreate. I will focus on making sure that I take care of you, my dear alumni, as much as possible. If last year was all about the big picture, this year will be all about the little details and being a true family friend.
I will also strive to make sure that the alumni association is not just a place to reminisce about the past, but a place to contribute to our school and society. I want the alumni association to be a place where we can offer each other comfort and encouragement, but also a place where we can explore new opportunities and work together to build a better future. Each and every one of our alumni is a valuable asset, and we are confident that together we can enrich our community.

Dear friends, fellow alumni! It is June, the month of lush greenery and freshness. I am ○○○, who was inaugurated as the ○th president in April with your warm affection and support. On behalf of our ○○ classmates, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our first president, our predecessors, and the officers for their dedicated efforts.
Proud members of the Class of ○ are doing remarkable things for politics, for the economy, for national and ethnic development, and for their alma mater across the country. I am deeply proud that so many of them are achieving great things in their respective fields. I feel a great sense of responsibility to represent such a great group of classmates, and I am reminded of the heavy responsibility I have to repay them. We will have to work hard to ensure that we remain a close-knit group of friends who lean on each other, push and pull each other, and win together in the face of difficult realities.
As I take office, I would like to share with you some of my priorities for the development of our alumni association. First, we will further strengthen our network to keep all alumni connected and help each other grow. We will provide opportunities for alumni from different industries and fields to share their experiences and wisdom, so that we can all grow together.
Second, we want to secure the financial health of the Alumni Association, and build a long-term development plan based on that. We will develop a systematic plan to ensure that alumni activities are sustainable and not just a short-term achievement, and we need your active participation and support to make this happen.
Third, in order to become a socially responsible alumni association, we will actively pursue various social contribution activities. Based on the experience and resources that our alumni have accumulated in society, we will come up with ways to contribute to the community and our alma mater, and by doing so, we will further strengthen the bonds between alumni.
I am a person who lacks everything. I don’t know a lot of things yet. However, I am not worried, because I believe that the overwhelming support of the alumni who believe in me will lighten my step, and the pride of being an Associate will give a great boost to the development and growth of the Alumni Association. Moreover, I am sure that I will have a lot of help from the other members of the Executive Board.
I may have some unrealistic ideas for the alumni association. Please don’t think that I am being flimsy, and please don’t think that I think terribly of our alumni association.
